First and foremost, Happy International Women’s Day to all the ladies out there!
Why did I use the headline, Men in WoMen? I am definitely not being sexist here but just wanted to point out that women can do the things that men do.
When you say we are not as strong as men, yes maybe 10kg of items not really but we can tolerate the pain of birth which I would rate a 10/10. FYI I had no epidural.
We are built to multi-task. We can come back after work and smile at our husbands and children yet do the housework. Let me just break it down in detail for you – sweeping, mopping, laundry, preparing food, cleaning the dishes, feeding the child, making milk for the child, bathing the child… When your child sleeps, it continues – ironing the clothes, washing milk bottle, taking out clothes from the dryer.
Luckily, my hubby was on off day. My girl vomited on the floor and her sofa bed. WOW, my hubby had to bathe her but I had to scrub her vomit off the toilet floor and mop the house with Dettol and Cif. At 11.30pm guys. I was almost going to sleep…
Hell yeah we are tired and have worked way too hard at work but no one else is gonna do the housework. My hubby will help out on his off day but when he is working his shift, I have to work overtime for free at home… Working moms are basically working OT for free…
Dang, wish I had more sleep. But still, Happy International Women’s Day!
PS: Below is the mess I had to clear when I reached home yesterday afternoon. Thanks my dear toddler.
